Ok, so how many people got this?
Kevin Duffy is the Director of Medicinal Chemistry in the Cancer Research Dept. at GlaxosmithKline. He commissioned this cartoon for some t-shirts, and gave me permission to post our collaboration online.
As you might have guessed, Kevin came up with the idea. And he sent me a t-shirt!

The CO2H group of the molecule sitting down is characteristic of an alcohol.
COOH would be a carboxylic acid group, no?
The sugar should look sweet, and the a fat molecule should know whether something looks fat or not :-)
I thought maybe the phosphoric acid was wearing the sugar instead of the other way around. It is just easier to believe two acids would be friends.
I'd order a shirt or five.
I just finish taking an intro to organic and biochemistry!
May I send the pic to the professor?
